IoT Sensors
IoT Manufacture using Printed Electronics
Printed electronics offers a more sustainable method of producing IoT devices.
Functional layers can be printed to measure pressure, temperature, gas sensing, water purity or as part of biosensor.
Circuit layers: silver, dielectric and carbon layers can be printed to produce the underlying circuitry including antenna systems for data transmission.

Examples of IoT

Chemical Sensor Detection IoT
Chemical sensor was constructed incorporating a battery and electronics to record a chemical leak and transmit data via Bluetooth.
The material was printed on a flexible plastic substrate that can wrapped around the pipework to continuously monitor for chemical leaks.
Data was sent to a dashboard with alarm conditions in the event of a leak.
Prototype Development
We are able to prototype IoT devices:
- Industrial screen printers and a range of IR and convection ovens and UV conveyors for manufacturing IoT systems
- SMT assembly lines and die placement tools for assembly of sensors
- Software/electronics interface – firmware development to demonstrate IoT sensor as proof of concept
