DM-INI-7003

Ink-jet printable insulating ink for drop-on-demand print-heads, rapidly cured by UV-LED (380–395 nm, 500–1000 mJ/cm²) for dielectric layers on glass, indium tin oxide (ITO) glass, plastics and FR4. Cured films combine high dielectric strength (>14 kV/mm) with >99% optical transmission and 5B adhesion. Can be overprinted with Dycotec conductive inks.

Insulator inks are used for:

  • Extended durability by providing protection to conductive layers. These layers help to prevent unwanted oxidation and moisture ingress as well as providing protection against mechanical damage.
  • Our dielectric insulator inks and pastes can be overprinted as a cross over dielectric to produce more complex electronic circuitry. Excellent voltage breakdown performance is needed to avoid the formation of short circuits.
  • Dielectric performance can be tuned to allow fabrication of printed capacitors. They can also be tuned for use for high frequency circuits.

We provide both UV and thermally cured systems for a range of deposition techniques including flat bed and rotary screen printing, inkjet and aerosol printing.

We also provide a range of insulator and overcoat systems specifically for biosensors, to support our range of polyimide systems and specifically for stretchable and In-Mold Electronics.

Benefits of our insulator systems include:

  • Excellent stability. Supporting accelerated lifetime test data available on request
  • Designed for use with high speed printing
  • Excellent screen printing performance with long screen residence times
  • For ink jet systems, excellent open times
  • Excellent adhesion to a broad range of substrates including range of the most commonly used PET substrates, FR4, ITO-glass, polyimide and metals
  • High area coverage enabling reduced paste consumption
  • Compatible with our broad range of printed conductive inks and paste systems.  This includes extensive stack testing including flexibility and crease tests.
  • Rapid development formulation development service is available to develop specific customer formulations for new applications and printing methods.
